ABOUT

Jonathon Vaiksaar

I had a rudimentary introduction to woodworking, design and metal work at school. After school I continued to work with wood, making furniture for myself whilst I pursued a career in business where I worked in supply chain management for 15 years. I decided in 2013 to leave the corporate world to focus on a more creative outlet and started my woodworking career, building up my workshop and experience ever since. I have been making boxes professionally for 10 years now.

I am a member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen and The Homo Faber guide and have exhibited at many shows across the UK including London Craft week at Future Icons, the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair and Celebration of Craftsmanship and Design in Cheltenham. My work has been highly commended by Woodland Heritage for its innovative use of British timbers, and I have received commissions from The Furniture History Society, along with many private clients across the globe.

My work is available from stock direct or via the galleries mentioned to the right. Commissions are welcome, so don't hesitate to get in touch to discuss your requirements.
